CAUSES CLOSE TO MY HEART
I had heard about the African Witch Children before, but I never really paid much attention until today when I was doing research for my book, and I watched a documentary. As a Mother and a human I cannot turn my back on these children who are tortured, and sometimes murdered by the local churches for being, what the pastor's call, demons or witches. I have provided a video below for you to see the reality of this situation.
There is a refuge called Stepping Stones Nigeria setup for these abused children as a safe haven as many of these kids have been abandoned.

Barton Brooks is my new hero! He takes 'paying it forward' to a whole new level. I found him when I read an article about him in O magazine. He gave up his life in NYC to travel the globe and help people. He's a professional helper! He builds gardens and huts, acts as a repair man, and even delivers donations/items donated to the people that need them. How cool is that? His non-profit orgnization is called Guerrilla Aid.
Check out these videos and you will see why I say he is my hero. The one on the left, Barton helps a woman become self sufficient while the video on the right he delivers a wheelchair to a girl in a villiage who really needed one.
